Up 8 places overnight! Alan’s westerly position seems to be paying off as Hublot hit the fresh wind earlier than his competitors. And took advantage of it to gain ground in the north-west.
After two - tiring - ridges to cross, in which Alan held on despite rankings that could have discouraged many a skipper, it’s back to downwind sailing and speed. The day promises to be speedy, in south and south-easterly winds of 15 to 20 knots, in which jibes may string along for Hublot, in order to head more northwards. Let’s hope they cross in front of the group to the right, heading for Iceland!
