After a speedy check-up and decoration worksite, the Swiss sailor’s new IMOCA will soon be back at sea: it’ll leave the boathouse on Tuesday 5th April in the afternoon before being launched again in the morning on Wednesday 6th April.
Timing was tight, but Alan Roura’s team did it! Taken out of the water on 28th February, the Hublot 60 footer will be back at sea on Wednesday 6th April, after less than 40 days of worksite. A short wintering, whose two main issues were to check all the boat’s equipment and paint its new colours. Aiming to launch her as early as possible in relation to the first race of the season, the Guyader Bermudes 1000 Race, starting on 8th May in Brest. Quite a challenge! “We are very proud to have respected such deadlines”, said Allyson Mousselon, the new Team Manager. “This depended on many external parameters, such as the creation of the boat’s design with the Hublot teams, the availability of painters and the application of stickers… not to mention the arrival of our new rigging manager, Simon Vasseur, who discovered the boat and its systems and had to get to grips with it very quickly while ensuring the maintenance of deck fittings. The rest of the job list consisted in a global check of all equipment, welcoming the rest of the team members, while adapting to the schedule of other operators. A real puzzle and a great challenge which was an all-round success!” Hublot Sailing Team was able to rely on the total involvement of its partners, who worked hand in hand with the designe.fr agency, boat decoration masters, and the reactivity and efficiency of the Filumena Marine and Atelier sur Mer teams – local service providers specialised in painting and marine markings respectively – who delivered impressive work in record timing. The result of all these efforts will be visible in Lorient, next Tuesday, when the team reveals its beautiful IMOCA, which will be launched again the next morning. See you at the submarine base!
